I'm kind of worried I'm going to get totally confused with the subway. I'm sure this sounds really stupid to you, but can you give me a bit of an overview? Where does it go? How do I buy a ticket? How late does it run? And so on.
I'm sure it's not so hard once you get used to it, but I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into, you know? I didn't really use the subway my last time in New York.
Thanks!

This is not a stupid question at all! The subway can be annoyingly confusing, even for New Yorkers who use it every day.
I'm putting up a whole bunch of subway information in your guide. It'll cover everything you need to know, including the nearest subway stations to your hotel, costs, directions, etc. Don't worry, your guide will make this all painless.
But in short: the subway goes practically everywhere in the areas you'll be in. Tickets are known as "MetroCards", and you'll probably want a "weekly MetroCard" which gives you unlimitd access for your whole trip. You can buy one from any station, at JFK, or in many newspaper shops. The subway runs 24 hours, although construction service changes are extremely common late nights (after midnight) and on weekends.
Mark, subway info is up in your guide. I'll also include subway directions from your hotel as your trip draws closer. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The guide information is really great, makes perfect sense. I look forward to the directions too. It's really nice to have all this information in one place.

No problem. Again, let me know if anything is unclear. And if you're ever unsure about anything, you can always flag down a taxi! So you'll never be stranded no matter what.
